One-liner: Agent Reach is a Python CLI that gives an AI coding agent access to internet platforms — search, transcripts, posts and pages across 15 channels — by selecting and configuring the connectors for you.

The local package metadata points its homepage and repository URLs at github.com/Panniantong/agent-reach, confirming the installed CLI is the same project as the repository — not a name collision.
What the CLI actually does
From the local --help, the available commands are:
setup— interactive configuration wizardinstall— one-shot installer with flagsconfigure— set a config value or auto-extract from a browserdoctor— check platform availabilityskill— manage agent skill registrationformat— clean and format platform API outputtranscribe— transcribe a URL or local audio file (Whisper via Groq/OpenAI)watch/check-update— health checks and updates for scheduled use
The pitch is not a scraper farm you must wire together yourself; it installs and diagnoses each connector, and registers itself as a skill for agents such as Claude Code and Cursor.
Local doctor results (this machine, 2026-09-29)
Running agent-reach doctor reported 4 of 15 channels currently available:
- ✅ YouTube video info and transcripts
- ✅ RSS/Atom feeds
- ✅ Any web page via Jina Reader
- ✅ Bilibili search API (full functionality suggests an optional
bilibili-cli)
Channels marked installed-but-needing-configuration included GitHub repos (gh CLI missing), V2EX (API connection failed through the current network path), and semantic search via Exa (config written, but doctor does not claim the remote service is verified).
Eight optional channels were listed as unlockable: Twitter/X, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Xiaohongshu, Xiaoyuzhou podcasts, Xueqiu, and LinkedIn.
The honest caveats
- “15 platforms” ≠ 15 working immediately. The local run shows the pattern clearly: core channels work out of the box, but most optional ones require login, cookies, separate CLIs, or a working network path. The doctor output itself is careful not to overstate availability.
- Platform Terms of Service apply. Reading Twitter, Reddit, Xiaohongshu or Facebook data through automated connectors can conflict with those platforms’ terms, even though the tool itself is MIT-licensed. Compliance is the operator’s responsibility.
- Connector maintenance is external. The README’s own framing — “接入方式会换代” (integration methods change over generations) — signals that channels can break when an upstream platform changes, and you depend on updates.
- Transcription uses third-party Whisper endpoints (Groq/OpenAI), so audio is not processed entirely locally.
Who should use it
Developers already using a coding agent who want one maintained installer for platform access instead of maintaining a drawer of separate scripts. Our local evidence supports the core claim — it installs cleanly, its doctor is honest about what is and is not connected, and the CLI surface matches the documentation — but anyone adopting it for a specific platform should verify that channel with doctor before relying on it.
