Each line is the vendor’s own wording, split from the price capture checked on 2026-09-12. Nothing here is rounded, converted or re-worded — the full sentences stay in the review below. Lines that carry only a price continue the plan named on the line above, in the vendor’s own order.

One-liner: Scriptly is an iOS teleprompter app by designer-developer Jason Eliphalet that listens while you speak and moves the script at your pace — including holding still when you go off-script — wrapped in a local-first writing, scheduling, and recording workflow. It launched on Product Hunt on September 7, 2026 and placed #3 Product of the Day. Every number and claim below was checked against the official site, the app’s Terms page, and attributed third-party sources on 2026-09-12.

This is an official-information entry: no TestFlight install, no recorded takes, so there is no score and no “we tested” claims.
⚠️ Name collision — two other “Scriptly” apps exist
Do not confuse this product with: (1) “Scriptly – Write Better” on the US App Store (id6766103184), a $4.99 one-time-purchase scripts/notes/teleprompter app for Mac/iPad/iPhone with an unrelated maker, and (2) Scriptly the AI screenwriting/assistant tools that share the name. The Product Hunt product’s listing slug is literally misspelled “Sciptly”, which is how you can tell launches apart in search results. Our entry covers only the voice-following iOS beta by Jason Eliphalet.
What the voice-following bet is worth
Classic prompters force the speaker to match a rigid scroll speed; the maker says that frustration is why he built this one. Reversing the relationship matters most for solo creators recording founder updates, lessons, or short-form talking heads — the take survives a pause, an aside, or a rephrased sentence without anyone reaching for the phone. The Apple Watch control targets the same failure mode from the other side: framing the shot and walking into position without touching the device.
The scheduling angle is the quieter differentiator: scripts live on a shooting calendar inside the same app, so a Tuesday idea is camera-ready on Friday with no exports. That makes Scriptly a light content pipeline for one-person production rather than just a scrolling window.
Where to stay honest
- It is a beta. The free price is a launch state, not a plan tier. The Terms already name a “Scriptly Pro” subscription, so expect the current feature set to be re-partitioned when pricing arrives.
- No published price exists to compare. Any article quoting a Scriptly subscription number is copying the Terms’ hypothetical — including ours above, which only reports that the Terms mention it.
- Single developer, unproven longevity. TestFlight distribution, one maker, no team page. Great for a free tool; a risk if it becomes your studio dependency.
- Traction numbers are second-hand. Upvote/comment counts come from launch-coverage snapshots, not a live fetch today.
- Voice tracking quality is the whole product and is exactly the thing we have not measured — on-device vs cloud transcription, accent robustness, and lag are unknowable from marketing pages.
Who it’s for
- Solo talking-head creators (course lessons, founder updates, Reels/TikTok) who lose takes to fixed-speed scroll
- Anyone who already records on an iPhone and wants Watch-triggered start/stop without a third remote app
- Not for: studios needing team scripts, Android users (not yet), or anyone who needs a priced, contracted tool today
